Uptown Chicago: Little Vietnam

An area that is not far from Emmaus Ministries is ”Little Vietnam.” The neighborhood is anchored on Argyle Street. The main members of the community are Vietnamese, Cambodian, Laotians and Chinese. Thais are clearly making an impact on the area.

Intro to Little Vietnam

It is a small neighborhood and yet it is distinct. There are stores, restaurants, bakeries, and social service organizations. The neighborhood is politically active and looks out for its unique interests.

Vietnamese Mural

This is a great place to go to buy unusual foods, music or art. It is also just a fun short walk form our apartment. And best of all, more murals!
